February 21, 2012OMFG! These kittens are so adorable you just want to squeeze them until they explode with kitty guts all over your face, right? Well guess what, You just might have to after reading this post. These cute cuddly fur-balls can kill you!
What? Kittens? I bet you’re thinking picturing all those horrible mean cats that attack unsuspecting victims. Maybe you’re picturing the awesomely deadly cat from the old 1989 horror movie Pet Cemetery?
Nope!
I’m still referring to These little fuzz-balls who end up stealing hundreds of hours (sometimes thousands) from you while you’re on the internet wasting time watching cat videos and funny I can Haz Cheeseburger photos that make you screech in the most girlie way possible. Yup, that’s right! Well, maybe not just adorable little kittens, full grown adult cats too. It’s actually in a parasite they carry: Toxiplasmosis.
For any of you who don’t know anything about it, it’s a parasitic disease that lives in many cats. It can also get passed from the mother cat to its kittens, and, that’s right, you guessed it, straight to you! You’ll get it from having contact with cats and their feces, which is inevitable as you’re cleaning out their litter box. Wanna know if you have Toxiplasmosis? Most likely, you’ll begin having flu-like symptoms and then you’ll feel better after a week. However, if you have issues with your immune system, It can get a lot worse. Say you’re pregnant, have HIV+, going through chemo therapy or just had an organ transplant… All of a sudden you’ll notice your brain has major inflammation, your eyes are scarring, and then you look down and notice you’ve got these horrible skin lesions. Scientists are even beginning to realize that Toxiplasmosis plays a part in schizophrenia, so you may even begin to go crazy. Have you been hearing voices or talking to walls lately? Is there a cat sitting across the room from you giving you the old evil eye? Maybe this article will help things make a bit more sense as to why this is happening. But hey, Look at the bright side… At least you wont have to illegally download music anymore in order to hear it.
And yes, Your car most certainly has it.
Have a great day, my fellow cat owners. 🙂
