Here is a video of Deadstar Assembly performing our song Breathe for Me at Bar Sinister on Jan 26, 2013. We were playing with The Dreaming during the 2013 Winter NAMM Convention weekend. I had a blast this night and there are a few more songs from the set that I uploaded to my channel if you want to watch.
Here are some photos of me performing with Atrocity. This is the very first band I ever joined and pretty much where I learned to play bass. Thanks to Joey Belknap and John Holtz, they both really helped me pick on on playing. I believe we were performing at club Fubar here in south FL. Rudy was our singer for this show but we never seemed to have a stable singer in the band.
We finally got back the Van for the company. There are two more Ford Connects that are being wrapped like this. I helped work on the design for the wrap and Boca360Wraps did the wrapping as well as some of the artwork concepts. It came out looking really good. I’m pretty happy with the way it came out. It looks so much better on the actual van than it did on the design itself. It even looks way better in person than in these photos. I’m excited about seeing the other two!
Zorak the praying mantis is almost big enough to move over to his new enclosure. One or two more molts and he’ll be just the right size. Here is a video clip of him hunting and eating fruit flies. I can tell by the rate that he’s eating them that he’ll probably have to move to eating baby crickets soon!
Here’s a photo of Luna that I took over the weekend while she was relaxing in the grass. She loves to sit outside and watch the birds, stray cats, and other neighborhood residents going on about their day.
Last night Luna decided to pull up some grass in the front yard and accidentally bit on one of those sticker plants with the spiky seeds. Unfortunately, one of them got stuck to the roof of her mouth just behind her top front teeth. She was scratching at her mouth and threw up a bit when she came inside and I thought she got a Bufo toad but when I looked in her mouth and in her eyes i didn’t notice any sign of the poison. After a few minutes of inspecting, I noticed it and began trying to pull it out but she got a little aggressive and didn’t want us touching it at all. The adrenaline rush sucked because it made me all shaky since I hate seeing any of my pets in pain even if it’s something this small. I guess what I want to know is when something like this happens, what’s your advice on keeping them calm and trying to remove something foreign from their body since they do not know you’re just trying to help. After a few minutes, it ended up coming out on it’s own luckily, but it wouldn’t have been easy to fight her to keep her mouth open to pull something like that out. Especially when she gets older…
The Dog Training Academy of South Florida had a bit of a full house today during puppy classes. Today Mel and I got to train Luna how to “Come” by having her run through the open tunnel. She also got to play with the other puppies and every time it was time to catch her, we gave her treats so that she know it’s not such a bad thing when we catch her during play time or put her leash back on. Holly, the trainer and owner of the dog training academy, calls this being the “fun police”. This is actually great for when you have them roaming free outside, this way when you call them, they will come to you and know that play time may not be over. A lot of times what happens is dogs will get worried that if they come to you, you will end their play time. I see it at the dog park all the time. People call their dogs over, and they just run away because they don’t want to leave yet. This is also great in case your dog is ever in any danger. If it runs out the front door or towards a street. You want the puppy to trust you enough to come whenever you call him/her.
